Since 2005, Story From a New Friend (SFANF) has been dedicated to creating connections and building communities through sharing stories.

SFANF was founded during a conversation between five freshmen at Lake Forest College – each individual with a unique background and story. From that conversation founder Kevin Conroy Smith felt that the lessons learned during that interaction should be heard by everyone. The organization has since achieved great success on college campuses and expanded off-campus to Chicago.

With a fresh perspective on who we are and what we do, SFANF strengthens its resolve to facilitate the understanding and appreciation of diversity through education derived from real life stories. Through a variety of new vehicles, we invite you to join us.
